Litigation Associate

About the role

The Litigation Associate will manage a range of contentious matters for commercial and individual clients. This full‑time, on‑site position in Ibadan involves drafting pleadings, preparing legal opinions, and overseeing case files from inception through resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions and other litigation documents.
• Prepare legal opinions and manage case files throughout the litigation lifecycle.
• Conduct legal research and analyze case law and statutes.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, including deposition and witness preparation.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategies.
• Communicate with clients and ensure compliance with deadlines and procedural rules.
• Support business development by contributing to thought‑leadership pieces and maintaining professional relationships.

Required profile

• Strong foundational knowledge of commercial and civil litigation principles.
• LL.B and Barrister‑at‑Law (B.L) qualification with admission to practice law in Nigeria.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical ability and sound judgment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and handle client interactions.
