Literature Teacher (Full‑time)

About the role

The Canon James Pearse Anglican College is seeking a full‑time Literature Teacher to join its Christian missionary boarding school in Lagos. The role involves delivering engaging literature lessons to secondary students and contributing to the school’s academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver literature lessons in line with the curriculum.
• Implement the school curriculum and adapt teaching materials.
• Assess student work and evaluate progress.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and lesson plans.
• Manage classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment.
• Mentor and support students academically and personally.
• Utilise teaching aids and educational technology where appropriate.
• Participate in professional development and collaborative activities.
• Promote the school’s Christian values and ethos.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• TRCN registration is an advantage.
• Relevant teaching experience, preferably in a boarding school setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities.
• Good character and willingness to work in a Christian missionary environment.
