Legal / Contract Adviser

About the role

This position acts as a guardian of the organization's legal and financial interests, managing contractual relationships from start to finish. It protects the company by mitigating risk, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory frameworks and supporting smooth project execution through proactive legal oversight and strategic negotiation support.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts and formal agreements
• Advise on the company's legal duties and contractual commitments
• Evaluate project-specific contracts, consultancy terms, subcontractor arrangements and non-disclosure agreements
• Identify contractual vulnerabilities and propose risk-mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with all relevant statutes, regulations and professional standards
• Oversee contract execution, tracking obligations, deadlines and deliverables
• Guide parties on contract modifications, claims, disputes, time extensions and payments
• Negotiate with clients, contractors, consultants and suppliers
• Maintain accurate records of legal documentation and contracts
• Coordinate with external legal counsel when litigation or specialist advice is needed
