Legal & Compliance Associate

About the role

The Legal & Compliance Associate will support Nomba’s legal, regulatory and compliance functions, ensuring the fintech operates in line with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies. Reporting to the Head of Legal, the role blends legal advisory work with hands‑on compliance execution across a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to internal business units on regulatory and contractual matters.
• Manage regulatory engagements, including filings and communications with regulators and law‑enforcement agencies.
• Oversee financial crime compliance programmes, including monitoring and reporting.
• Handle contract management, dispute resolution and stakeholder training initiatives.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies and external legal requirements.

Required profile

• Commercially‑mind​ed legal professional with strong analytical, drafting and communication abilities.
• Experience navigating regulatory matters within a fintech or financial services context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, regulators and external partners.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple compliance projects in a fast‑paced environment.
