Lead Procurement

About the role

The Lead Procurement is responsible for overseeing and managing the end‑to‑end procurement process for a network of hospitals and healthcare centres in Imo State. This role ensures timely, cost‑effective acquisition of medical supplies, equipment and services while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organisational standards. The position plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency and supporting high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to secure high‑quality medical supplies, equipment and services at competitive prices.
• Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting and vendor management, ensuring seamless operations across all facilities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, organisational policies and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
• Analyze procurement data and market trends to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve supply‑chain efficiency.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to align procurement activities with organisational goals, fostering transparency and accountability.

Required profile

• 6–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in the healthcare or public sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Professional certification such as CIPS or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of procurement laws, healthcare supply‑chain dynamics and best practices in vendor management.
• Exceptional leadership, negotiation, analytical and organisational skills.
• Resident of Imo State or willing to relocate.
