Lead, Head Office Operations Control

About the role

The Lead, Head Office Operations Control is a systems‑thinking professional responsible for assessing, monitoring and reporting on internal controls across all head‑office operational functions and shared services of Moniepoint. Reporting to the Head of Internal Controls, the role safeguards assets, ensures regulatory compliance and supports the bank’s risk‑management framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual internal‑control activity plan for head‑office operations, aligning with COSO, ISO 31000 and the bank’s risk‑management framework.
• Identify, assess and prioritize operational risks across Core Banking GL movements, People Operations, Real Estate, Procurement, Customer Complaints, Physical Security and other support functions.
• Design and lead risk‑based control assessments and testing programmes to verify design effectiveness and operating efficiency.
• Provide 2LoD advisory support to function leaders on control design, risk mitigation and process improvement.
• Manage and develop a team of Shared Service Control Officers, ensuring timely delivery of control testing and reporting.
• Act as the primary liaison between Internal Controls and all head‑office support functions, facilitating governance and policy compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in internal controls, operational risk or audit within banking or fintech environments.
• Strong knowledge of COSO, ISO 31000 and relevant regulatory standards.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, communication and reporting skills.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of internal‑control frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000).
• Experience with control assessment, testing and risk‑based methodology.
• Familiarity with core banking systems and shared‑service processes.
