Lead Chemical Engineer - Service Management
Honeywell Technologies
Job description
About the role
Honeywell Technologies is looking for a Lead Chemical Engineer who acts as Service Manager for assigned customer accounts. The role covers end-to-end service management: delivering agreed service commitments, coordinating technical support, demonstrating customer value and growing service revenue. It works closely with Customer Success, Technology Services and Field Services.
Key responsibilities
- Act as primary service contact, build relationships across operating, technical and management teams, and maintain account-level service plans with deliverables, events and timelines.
- Track service commitments under active agreements, catalyst-related commitments and new-unit or project support, validate commercial details with Sales and coordinate renewals or amendments.
- Own customer-facing responses to technical service requests, turning concerns into clear problem statements, engaging technical specialists and confirming closure.
- Coordinate support for new-unit start-ups, catalyst reloads, turnarounds and inspections, keeping demand forecasts and staffing projections accurate.
- Manage service opportunities from qualification through proposal and closure, developing value-based opportunities such as inspections, health checks, training and digital services.
- Keep opportunity status, forecasts and account reviews up to date, escalate risks and improve delivery efficiency.
- Provide occasional support to customers without service agreements (less than 20% of time) and travel about 40% of the year domestically and internationally.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of chemical engineering experience; significant experience with two or more UOP process technologies strongly preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in the refining, petrochemicals and gas industries.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with mechanical aptitude.
- Able to manage internal work processes through established systems and tools and to collaborate across business units.
Required skills
- Familiarity with Salesforce.com.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
