Key Accounts Manager – Lagos

About the role

The Key Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing business dealings with contractors and customers, building strong relationships, and prescriptively selling tailored cement solutions. The role focuses on influencing project specifications to position Lafarge as the supplier of choice and driving revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Search for and collect information on new and upcoming projects within the assigned region or channel.
• Monitor project developments and establish contact with contractors to influence cement specifications.
• Gather and share up‑to‑date market information, trends, and competitor activity to support commercial and product development strategies.
• Participate in bidding and pre‑selling phases, offering professional advice and recommending value‑added products (VAPs) to lock in projects.
• Estimate the size of the contractor segment, forecast market growth, and integrate it into business volume plans.
• Maintain up‑to‑date customer portfolios, execute delivery plans aligned with customer schedules, and ensure at least 70% of customers in the database remain active.
• Develop a deep understanding of customers’ business needs, operations, and pain points to become an integral part of their supply chain.
• Address cement application issues, optimise pricing and margins, and demonstrate additional value through product solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing business dealings with contractors and institutional customers.
• Strong relationship‑building and prescriptive selling capabilities.
• Ability to influence project specifications and act as a trusted advisor.
• Experience gathering market intelligence and supporting commercial strategy development.
• Track record of converting leads into sales and driving profitability.
