Junior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team in Lagos. The role supports the preparation and control of project costs, working closely with engineers, contractors and suppliers to ensure accurate budgeting and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and tender documents.
• Carry out quantity take‑offs from construction drawings and specifications.
• Support monitoring of project costs and prepare regular cost reports.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations and assist in contract reviews.
• Prepare interim valuations, payment applications and final account documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations and material usage.
• Conduct site visits to measure completed work and verify quantities.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors and suppliers to promote cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within civil construction.
• Good understanding of quantity take‑offs, cost estimation and construction contracts.
• Membership or progress toward membership with the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with quantity surveying software such as CostX, PlanSwift or AutoCAD.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
