Junior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Junior Legal Counsel will support the Company Secretary/Legal Advisor in delivering secretarial, statutory, regulatory compliance and corporate governance services for MDS Logistics Limited. This role involves coordinating legal services, managing litigation, and handling intellectual property matters.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in organizing Annual General Meetings, Extraordinary General Meetings, Board meetings and committees.
• File returns and notifications to the Corporate Affairs Commission and other regulatory bodies.
• Manage litigation, policy matters, debt recoveries and liaise with external legal consultants.
• Represent the company in courts and report on proceedings.
• Process expatriate quotas, residence permits, visas and other immigration requirements.
• Draft, review and vet contracts, leases, licences, joint‑venture agreements and other legal documents.
• Maintain and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, designs and patents.
• Develop and maintain a contract management database, including registers, templates and status reporting.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and international statutes through periodic legal audits and advisory.

Required profile

• Junior‑level legal professional capable of supporting senior counsel and company secretarial functions.
• Familiarity with corporate governance, litigation management and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to coordinate with external law firms and handle court representations.
