Java Developer – AI/ML (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Java Developer with a focus on AI/ML to join a global leader in conversational AI. The position is fully remote and offers the chance to work on next‑generation dialog agents used in education, entertainment, and general question‑answering.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality Java code using Spring Boot to train and optimise large language models.
• Conduct model evaluations, benchmark performance, and analyse results for continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and rank AI model responses across diverse domains to ensure alignment with predefined criteria.
• Lead supervised fine‑tuning efforts, creating and curating task‑specific datasets.
• Collaborate with researchers and annotators to implement reinforcement learning with human feedback (RLHF) and refine reward models.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend development.
• Experience with training and optimising large language models (LLMs).
• Ability to design and execute evaluation strategies for AI model performance.
• Familiarity with supervised fine‑tuning (SFT) and RLHF techniques.
• Strong problem‑solving and technical reasoning skills for model alignment.
