Java Backend Developer

About the role

Bluecounts is looking for a motivated Java Backend Developer to join its engineering team. You will work closely with existing backend engineers to design, build, and maintain enterprise‑grade business applications and services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs that power frontend applications.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers and product teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and bugs.
• Optimize application performance and database queries.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑documented code.
• Assist in implementing new features and enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years experience developing backend applications with Java.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and REST API development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL databases.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub.
• Good understanding of software development best practices.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
