Internal Control Officer

About the role

Electronic Payplus Limited, Nigeria’s leading smart‑card personalization and electronic payment solutions provider, is seeking an Internal Control Officer for its Ibeju‑Lekki facility. The role focuses on evaluating operational control frameworks, conducting risk assessments, verifying inventory and assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating financial discrepancies.

Key responsibilities

• Identify operational risks, review SOPs, and conduct scheduled departmental audits to assess internal control effectiveness.
• Lead periodic physical inventory counts of raw materials, smart cards, and finished goods, and perform asset verification exercises.
• Investigate process breaches or financial discrepancies, compile monthly internal control reports, and present recommendations to senior management.
• Serve as primary liaison for internal and external auditors and coordinate staff training on policy compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 2‑5 years of proven experience in internal control, risk assessment, or audit functions.
• Must reside in or around Ajah, Lagos State.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and written reporting abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with audit/ERP software.
• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies.
