Internal Audit Manager

About the role

The Internal Audit Manager provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services to add value and improve the organisation's operations. The role covers all QSR outlets (ice-cream and Chinese restaurant brands), the central kitchen, supply chain and administrative departments, and involves regular visits to outlets. The position is based at the head office with periodic outlet visits.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual audit plan based on risk assessments, covering HQ and outlets
• Conduct financial, operational and compliance audits; evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements
• Perform surprise spot checks on cash handling, inventory, procurement, payroll and POS activities
• Assess risks around revenue leakages, food cost control, stock movements, vendor payments and cash handling, and propose mitigations
• Audit outlet compliance with SOPs, hygiene standards, staff scheduling, customer service and kitchen processes, and verify adherence to QSR brand standards and food safety regulations
• Carry out yield analysis, review outlet promotions, discounts, refunds and loyalty program controls, and audit the fixed asset register
• Investigate suspected fraud, theft or misconduct with HR where applicable, and set up early-warning indicators
• Ensure compliance with tax, health and safety, employment and financial reporting requirements, and monitor compliance with company policies
• Provide advisory support on internal controls during system upgrades (e.g. POS rollout, inventory software) and work with Finance, HR and Operations
• Prepare detailed audit reports, present findings to management and track corrective actions, and train staff on internal controls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• ICAN/ACCA certification required; CIA is an advantage
• Minimum 5-7 years of internal audit experience, preferably in retail, hospitality or QSR
• At least 3 years in a managerial role
• Willingness to travel to outlets regularly

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting, auditing standards and risk management frameworks
• Experience with POS systems, inventory software and financial ERPs
• Familiarity with QSR operations is a strong advantage
• Use of risk registers, IDEA and dashboards
