Intensivist – ICU Physician (Lagos)

About the role

FCC Healthcare, a leading multi‑specialty hospital in Lagos, is seeking a full‑time Intensivist to join its intensive care unit. The successful candidate will deliver round‑the‑clock clinical care for critically ill patients, ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based treatment in a collaborative, patient‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 assessment, stabilization, and ongoing management of complex medical and post‑surgical ICU patients.
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, review investigations, and adjust ventilatory and hemodynamic support.
• Implement evidence‑based protocols for sepsis, respiratory failure, shock, and other critical conditions.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and work closely with critical‑care nurses and allied health professionals.
• Coordinate care with cardiology, pulmonology, anesthesiology, surgery, and other specialties.
• Participate in clinical governance, morbidity‑mortality reviews, training, and quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree with residency or fellowship in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, or a related specialty.
• Specialist certification in Critical Care Medicine (or eligibility).
• Current medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in Nigeria.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities in a high‑acuity setting.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and teaching.
