Infrastructure Technician – Ibadan, Nigeria

About the role

The Infrastructure & Telecom Technician will join GVA’s expanding team in Ibadan, supporting the operation and growth of the fibre‑to‑the‑home network. Working under the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and commissioning critical telecom equipment, ensuring high‑availability services for millions of subscribers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on generator sets, air‑conditioning units, and network devices.
• Manage electrical infrastructures, both DC and AC power systems.
• Install, commission and test new equipment such as VCC, VAC, generators and cooling systems.
• Create weekly task schedules, document interventions and produce operational reports.
• Assess risks, prepare hardware and tool requirements, and communicate intervention impacts.
• Enforce safety standards, wear PPE, and maintain zero‑accident objectives.
• Assist in drafting tenders for infrastructure projects and monitor their progress.

Required profile

• Polyvalent technician capable of working independently or within a team.
• Strong adherence to safety regulations and internal processes.
• Ability to plan, analyse and execute technical interventions.
• Good communication skills to explain purpose and impact of work.
