Industrial Performance Manager

About the role

The Industrial Performance Manager supports the business and plants, drives performance improvement through performance analysis, proposes and challenges industrial targets and monitors action plans, and helps plant managers implement the industrial framework and other initiatives. The main focus is improving the performance of plants across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Health, safety and environment: be H&S compliant, take part in safety training, carry out safety observations, risk assessments and audits, and enforce security rules.
• Performance management: develop departmental plans, set strategic goals and budgets, and lead the Industrial function's staff.
• Define the vision and priorities for the four Nigerian plants, and define the Plant Performance Improvement Plan (PDP, MTP) with plant managers.
• Identify performance opportunities, monitor and challenge plant performance, and define and cascade targets to plants.
• Support plants in defining action plans, implementing them and tracking results, and validate operational and capital investment budgets and plans.
• Manage global initiatives: propose performance improvement missions, promote country initiatives, and support their rollout.
• Implement process tools and systems, including performance and cost analysis indicators, and roll out new tools and train users.
• Lead the Executive S&OP for the Industrial function and build a high-performing team.
• Prepare annual plant production budgets, control plant budgets and rolling forecasts, and optimise the contracting strategy.
• Support investment projects, capital expenditure projects and special projects such as new product launches.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, permits and procedures, and supervise personnel applying them.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of manufacturing operations experience, including 5 years in line management positions, preferably in Production or Process.
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and deliver challenging benefit and capability-building agendas.
• Management of cross-functional projects.
