Hybrid Accountant – Lagos

About the role

We are looking for a hybrid Accountant to join our award‑winning interior design studio in Lagos. You will maintain accurate financial records, ensure full tax and regulatory compliance, and provide timely financial insights to support project execution and business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records and prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Prepare annual financial statements, support audits and maintain a fixed‑asset register.
• Develop budgets, variance reports and cash‑flow forecasts.
• File monthly VAT, remit WHT, process payroll, PAYE, pensions and file NSITF, ITF, CIT and CAC annual returns.
• Manage project‑based job costing, revenue recognition and contract variations.
• Handle milestone billing, client advances, receivables and aged debtor schedules.
• Track WHT deducted by clients and reconcile credit notes.
• Keep accounts audit‑ready and provide financial reports for audits, financing and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in interior design, construction or architecture firms.
• Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA or CPA are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Proficiency with Zoho Books.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
