Humanitarian Specialist – Lagos (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Church is seeking a Humanitarian Specialist to support its 5‑Year Area Humanitarian Plan in Lagos, Nigeria. Working under the Area Humanitarian Manager, you will help deliver essential services such as food, shelter, sanitation and education to individuals and families in need.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational support for humanitarian projects in assigned regions.
• Collaborate with internal divisions, NGOs, government agencies and community leaders to manage the project life‑cycle, procurement and accountability.
• Conduct technical analysis, support budgeting, project management, communications and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare reports and evaluations for Area leadership and deliver training to staff and volunteers.
• Utilize emerging technologies and global project‑management systems to enhance humanitarian work.
• Supervise other humanitarian specialists and volunteers as required.
• Coordinate member‑focused humanitarian initiatives and contribute to sector‑specific expertise within Welfare and Self‑Reliance Services.
• Develop digital and written materials for Church‑wide distribution and support partnership cultivation.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the direction of the Area Humanitarian Manager.
• Strong collaboration skills with NGOs, government bodies and community officials.
• Experience managing project cycles, procurement processes and reporting.
• Capacity to train and mentor staff and volunteers.
• Willingness to travel within assigned countries or provinces as needed.
