Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

NerdAFRICA advises CEOs and boards across Africa on executive teams, governance, M&A HR advisory and corporate transformation. It is looking for an HR Business Partner who will advise on HR policies, employee relations and change management while ensuring compliance with local labour laws and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on HR policies, employee relations and change management, ensuring compliance with local labour laws and company standards.
• Support leadership development initiatives.
• Contribute to HR analytics and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement in HR processes to enhance employee experience and organisational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology or a related field; professional HR certification (e.g. CIPM, SHRM) is a plus.
• Experience in talent acquisition and management, including recruitment, onboarding, succession planning and leadership development.
• Proficiency in employee relations, performance management and conflict resolution, with a focus on fair and consistent practices.
• Knowledge of HR policies, Nigerian labour laws and compliance standards, including designing and implementing HR frameworks.
• Ability to use HR data and analytics to support decisions, measure initiatives and spot trends.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and consulting skills, working collaboratively across teams and levels.
• Comfortable in a hybrid environment, with strong self-management, confidentiality and ethical judgment.
• Demonstrated experience in change management, organisational transformation or HR support for M&A or restructuring is an advantage; prior experience in professional services, consulting or close work with executive leadership and boards is beneficial.
