Human Resources and Payroll Specialist

About the role

Clear Water Academy Foundation is looking for an experienced Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to manage payroll, benefits, and HR operations for its school community. Reporting to the Business Manager and working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure accurate payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Administer full‑cycle payroll for faculty, administration, and support staff, including new hires, salary adjustments, leaves, and terminations.
• Prepare statutory filings such as T4s, ROEs, year‑end reconciliations, and payroll remittances.
• Manage pension reporting for the Alberta Teachers' Retirement Fund and calculate annual pension adjustments.
• Coordinate employee benefit enrolments, changes, terminations, and liaise with providers and government agencies.
• Oversee the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through off‑boarding, maintaining accurate records and policies.
• Identify and implement process improvements for payroll and HR administration.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) of HR and payroll experience, preferably in an educational setting.
• Senior‑level expertise with a strong understanding of federal and provincial payroll legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
