Hotel Accountant

About the role

Hireeast.ng is recruiting an entry-level accountant in Anambra, Nigeria, within the hospitality and hotel industry. The role covers day-to-day recording and reconciliation of hotel financial transactions, with a focus on cash, receivables and payables.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily income and expenses from rooms, restaurant, bar, laundry and other hotel services
• Reconcile daily sales reports with cash, POS transactions, bank transfers and other payment channels
• Monitor cash flow and ensure all transactions are properly documented
• Track guest payments, outstanding balances, supplier invoices and other receivables and payables
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial reports
• Monitor operational expenses and report unusual spending or discrepancies
• Maintain records of purchases, inventory costs and supplier payments, and staff expense documentation
• Work with the front desk, restaurant, procurement and management teams to verify financial transactions
• Keep receipts, invoices, vouchers and other financial documents properly filed

Required profile

• Minimum of an OND in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting in any industry
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping, accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and organisational skills
• Honesty, integrity and the ability to handle confidential financial information

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Basic accounting software
