Hospital Administrator – Surgical & Diagnostic Centre, Kano

About the role

Aliko Dangote Foundation supports the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital Kano and has built a new Surgical & Diagnostic Centre (SDC) with radiology, laboratory, CSSD and surgery. The Hospital Administrator manages the day-to-day operations of the SDC, ensuring efficient service delivery, optimal use of facilities and resources, compliance with standards, patient-centered care and accountability for ADF-funded assets. The role links MMSH management, ADF, government stakeholders and service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operationalization and daily management of the Surgical & Diagnostic Centre.
• Coordinate clinical support services, patient flow, admissions, discharges, diagnostics and theatre operations.
• Oversee facilities, medical equipment, maintenance programmes and asset management systems.
• Ensure effective use of hospital information systems and digital platforms.
• Drive service excellence, patient satisfaction, institutional culture and performance improvement.
• Maintain governance, compliance, risk management and resource accountability frameworks.
• Coordinate workforce planning, staff performance monitoring, training and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor quality, safety, infection prevention and patient experience standards.
• Manage approved budgets, procurement plans, inventory controls and financial reporting.
• Report regularly on operations and performance to MMSH management and ADF leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration, Health Management, Public Health, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior administrative or operational role in a large healthcare institution.
• Experience managing hospital operations, diagnostic services, healthcare facilities, medical equipment, budgeting and healthcare systems.
