Home Tutor for Primary Maths & English – Lekki Phase 2

About the role

The client is seeking a home tutor to work with two primary‑school children (Primary 5 and Primary 3) in Western Foreshore, Lekki Phase 2, Lagos. The tutor will deliver lessons in basic mathematics, English language and phonics, following the Nigerian curriculum, and help the students prepare for upcoming secondary‑school entrance examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 2 hours of focused instruction each teaching day (Monday, Thursday and Saturday) at 4:30 PM at the client’s residence.
• Teach and reinforce core concepts in mathematics, English reading/writing and phonics.
• Monitor progress and adapt lessons to maintain the students’ A‑grade performance.
• Prepare the Primary 5 student for secondary‑school entrance exams later in the year.
• Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience tutoring primary‑level students, preferably with the Nigerian curriculum.
• Ability to teach both mathematics and English effectively.
• Flexibility to work on the specified days and times.
• Good communication skills with children and parents.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of basic mathematics concepts for primary students.
• Proficiency in English language teaching, including phonics.
