Heating & Air Conditioning Technician

About the role

Churchgate Group is seeking a full‑time Heating & Air Conditioning Technician to join its facilities team in Abuja. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems across both commercial and residential properties, ensuring optimal performance and occupant comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and service heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning equipment.
• Diagnose system faults, perform corrective repairs, and document all work performed.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and monitor refrigerant levels.
• Handle related plumbing and electrical connections, including condensate lines and wiring.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with facility and property management teams and communicate status to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong troubleshooting ability for HVAC systems.
• Practical plumbing knowledge related to condensate and piping.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs for heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning equipment.
• Understanding of electrical wiring, controls, and safety practices for HVAC.
• EPA or equivalent certification for refrigerant handling (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe).
• Technical training, trade‑school certification, or equivalent experience in HVAC or mechanical engineering.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.
• Detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on‑call shifts.
