Healthcare Accountant – Lagos

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our fast‑growing healthcare and medical services organization in Lagos. The role involves managing day‑to‑day financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and providing timely financial insights to support management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Process payroll, statutory deductions, pensions and tax remittances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with healthcare financial policies.
• Oversee invoice processing, billing validation and revenue tracking, including medical billing where applicable.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or a structured corporate environment.
• ICAN certification (student or qualified) is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
