Head of Sales – SME Lending

About the role

The Head of Sales will design and implement sales strategies that drive loan disbursement and portfolio growth across multiple regions. Reporting to senior management, you will lead a network of Zonal Managers, Sales Managers and field teams to expand the customer base and improve loan performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to meet loan disbursement targets.
• Lead, coach and manage Zonal Managers, Sales Managers and field sales representatives.
• Drive customer acquisition and market expansion in assigned territories.
• Monitor sales performance, productivity and portfolio quality.
• Collaborate with Credit, Risk, Operations and Collections to enhance loan performance and customer experience.
• Analyse sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, credit guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or related field.
• 5‑7 years of sales experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role within banking, fintech, micro‑finance or consumer lending.
• Proven track record of leading high‑performing field sales teams and achieving business targets.
• Strong understanding of SME lending, loan sales, customer acquisition and portfolio management.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
