Head of Programs – Nonprofit (Abuja)

About the role

The Head of Programs will provide strategic oversight for Lopterra Services Limited’s portfolio of gender‑equity and anti‑violence initiatives across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. This senior position drives high‑impact program design, implementation, and evaluation to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all programs and projects.
• Develop annual work plans, operational priorities, and program strategies that support organizational goals.
• Ensure program quality, compliance, and robust monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting mechanisms.
• Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to program teams, fostering accountability and innovation.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with donors, government agencies, development partners, and other stakeholders.
• Identify funding opportunities, manage program risks, and represent the organization in high‑level forums.

Required profile

• PhD or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
• 7–9 years of progressive experience in program leadership, management, and implementation within nonprofit, development, or social‑impact organizations.
• Proven track record in leading multi‑sectoral programs, managing cross‑functional teams, and engaging donors through proposal development and reporting.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder‑management, and problem‑solving abilities.
