Head of Origination & Coverage

About the role

The Head of Origination & Coverage will lead deal flow and manage founder and investor relationships for Crimson Oak’s advisory and private capital platform. Based in Lagos, this senior position drives the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of founder‑led and emerging corporates that fit the firm’s institutionalisation thesis.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and qualify investment opportunities across African markets.
• Lead client coverage meetings and shape mandates with founders.
• Coordinate internal advise, structure, and fund workstreams throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Develop sector theses, monitor market trends, and represent Crimson Oak at industry events.
• Oversee transaction execution from initial diagnosis to closing, ensuring high‑quality documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and refine the firm’s origination strategy.

Required profile

• Proven track record in origination and coverage within investment banking, private equity, private credit, corporate finance or related advisory roles, preferably with exposure to African markets.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with founders, management teams, investors and other stakeholders.
• Robust analytical and financial acumen, with a solid understanding of corporate governance and institutionalisation processes.
