Head of Operations

About the role

The Head of Operations will be a key member of the senior management team, reporting directly to the General Manager. This role will drive the transition of an agribusiness from incubation to fully scalable, commercially sustainable operations across farming, processing, distribution and retail.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational frameworks, processes, policies and structures to move the business into full‑scale operations.
• Translate business strategy into operating plans, performance priorities and KPI reporting mechanisms.
• Lead coordination across farming, processing/manufacturing, distribution and retail functions, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial objectives.
• Establish operational controls, risk mitigation measures and performance‑management systems.
• Oversee agricultural operations, production scheduling, resource utilisation and sustainable farming practices.
• Build and optimise value‑added food processing and manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with quality and food‑safety standards.
• Manage procurement, inventory, logistics and distribution channels to support market demand.
• Identify revenue growth, productivity improvement and cost‑optimisation opportunities and drive continuous improvement across the value chain.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with exposure to agriculture/farm operations, food processing/manufacturing and commercial/distribution or retail.
• Proven senior operational or business leadership experience managing diverse teams and complex structures.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to work and travel between Lagos, Ondo and other locations as required.
