Head of Mechanical – Rotating, Static, Lifting & Marine Equipment

About the role

VINCI Energies Oil & Gas is looking for a Head of Mechanical to provide technical leadership and maintenance oversight for rotating, static, lifting and marine equipment on two major FPSO assets operating off West Africa. The role is resident in Lagos and supports deep‑water offshore operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve mechanical maintenance plans, procedures and strategies.
• Ensure spare‑parts coverage and optimise stock management to meet reliability and availability targets.
• Act as Technical Administrator for Mechanical Spare Parts and Materials.
• Review, validate and monitor contractor‑generated maintenance plans.
• Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting, performance degradation investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Track equipment performance, KPIs and asset reliability, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate major maintenance campaigns, shutdowns, overhauls and vendor interventions.
• Manage technical studies, modifications and maintenance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance data in SAP‑based systems.
• Oversee external service providers, contractors and vendors, including scope definition and performance evaluation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical engineering experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical or energy sectors.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory, lead or management position.
• Proven experience supporting offshore production assets such as FPSOs or offshore platforms.
• Strong knowledge of HSE requirements in high‑risk environments.
• Experience with contractor management, technical audits and vendor coordination.
