Head of Marketing and Modern Trade

About the role

The Head of Marketing and Modern Trade will lead Lontor’s shopper and channel marketing initiatives across modern trade outlets. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines brand strategy, in‑store execution and digital support to drive revenue and market share in the Nigerian market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute shopper marketing strategies for modern trade, translating brand strategy into in‑store experiences and promotions.
• Lead execution excellence across key accounts, ensuring product availability, visibility, pricing compliance and sell‑out performance.
• Define merchandising standards, planograms and oversee in‑store branding, displays and POS materials.
• Build capabilities within sales and merchandising teams through training, coaching and performance tracking.
• Plan and execute BTL campaigns, roadshows and activations, measuring ROI and aligning with overall marketing calendar.
• Support digital and social media initiatives, linking them to retail promotions and driving traffic to e‑commerce channels.

Required profile

• Proven experience in brand management, strategic promotion planning and commercial planning.
• Strong ability to manage relationships with modern trade partners and negotiate effectively.
• Creative and innovative mindset with solid competitive analysis skills.
• Track record of delivering revenue and channel growth targets.
