Head of Internal Control & Audit

About the role

The organization is a fast‑growing healthcare provider operating across multiple sites in Nigeria. It seeks a senior professional to lead internal control, risk management, governance and audit functions, ensuring financial integrity and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve the internal control framework across all locations.
• Develop and execute risk‑based internal audit plans covering financial, operational, compliance and systems areas.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.
• Oversee financial control processes, including cash management, banking, reconciliations and payment authorisations.
• Monitor and standardise internal control procedures across all business units and branches.
• Identify, assess and mitigate financial, operational, compliance and strategic risks.

Required profile

• 8–12 years of experience in internal audit, internal control or risk management, preferably within healthcare.
• Proven experience managing multi‑site operations and enterprise‑wide risk programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset with high ethical standards and a focus on regulatory compliance.
• Senior‑level leadership capability to influence and drive a culture of accountability.
