Head of Field Sales/Distribution

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic leader to design and execute Bioharb’s offline route‑to‑market strategy across Nigeria. Reporting to senior management, the Head of Field Sales/Distribution will build a high‑performing field‑sales organisation and a robust distribution network to drive outlet penetration and revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive route‑to‑market plan covering pharmacies, health‑wellness stores, supermarkets, modern trade and wholesale distributors.
• Design the field‑sales structure (national, regional, area/territory, sales executives, merchandising) including territory sizing, headcount, reporting lines and performance metrics.
• Recruit, assess and train the initial field‑sales team.
• Identify, appoint and manage qualified distributors, setting territories, volume targets, margin terms and service standards.
• Create a measurable outlet universe and track activation, ordering, re‑ordering, revenue and stock availability.
• Collaborate with sales operations to build dashboards on territory performance, FSE productivity, distributor performance and inventory metrics.
• Lead data‑driven national expansion, prioritising markets with proven unit economics.

Required profile

• 5–7+ years of sales/distribution experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior field‑sales, regional or national leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling a field‑sales organisation across multiple Nigerian states.
• Deep knowledge of the Nigerian retail and distribution landscape, especially pharmacies, wholesalers and health‑wellness outlets.
• Proven track record of expanding physical distribution networks rather than maintaining inherited ones.
• Experience managing regional/area managers and field sales representatives.
• Strong understanding of primary sales, secondary sales and sell‑through metrics.
