Group Internal Auditor

About the role

The Group Internal Auditor provides independent assurance on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, internal control and compliance across all subsidiaries of Norrenberger Financial Group. Reporting to the Board Audit Committee and senior management, the role shapes audit strategy and delivers insight into emerging risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Group‑wide internal audit strategy aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
• Design audit tools, methodologies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Execute a risk‑based annual audit plan covering all subsidiaries and key functions.
• Document audit work, findings, conclusions and recommendations in accordance with professional standards.
• Coordinate external auditor activities and serve as the primary liaison for regulatory examinations.
• Present audit reports and periodic updates to the Board Audit Committee.
• Maintain and optimise audit technology platforms and analytics tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, ACA, ACCA, CISA or CRMA (required).
• MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• 8–12 years of experience in internal audit, risk management or compliance within financial services.
• Strong understanding of internal audit frameworks and regulatory expectations (CBN, SEC, NAICOM, NDIC, FRCN).
