Grants Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Grants Manager to lead grant management, business development and reporting for its Nigeria portfolio. Based in Maiduguri, you will ensure compliance, high‑quality proposals and effective donor communication across multiple programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre‑award and post‑award grant processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
• Develop and submit high‑quality funding proposals in collaboration with program and finance teams.
• Maintain comprehensive electronic filing systems and institutional knowledge repositories.
• Serve as the primary liaison with donors, responding to compliance queries and providing regular updates.
• Prepare donor briefs, internal visibility reports, and ensure all staff are informed of donor communications.
• Support senior management with strategic grant planning and business development initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in International Development, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience in grant management, preferably within an international humanitarian or NGO setting.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance requirements and reporting standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.
