Grant Coordinator (Budgeting and Reporting)

About the role

MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices is seeking a Grant Coordinator to manage budgeting and reporting for its reproductive health projects. The role is based in Abuja and is full‑time, supporting the organization’s mission to expand access to high‑quality reproductive health services across Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust project budgets in collaboration with program teams using the approved MSI internal budget template.
• Phase approved donor budgets by channel/DRL and transfer them to the MSI project upload template for SUN upload within set timelines.
• Monitor project‑related expenses, validate donor/account codes on purchase requests, and track approvals to prevent overspending.
• Review and approve all recording journals, ensuring they are saved in the appropriate month folder before posting to SUN.
• Maintain up‑to‑date BVA/PFR for each project, providing detailed commentary on variances and preparing consolidated status summaries.
• Prepare error‑free donor reports and submit them to the Finance Manager two days before the MSI deadline.
• Provide consolidated project status reports approved by the Finance Manager.
• Code and post all intercompany transactions, ensuring full reconciliation with detailed explanations.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of deferred income, including UNFPA donated stock, ensuring no balances remain on closed projects.
• Update the funding pipeline/cost matrix monthly and implement the support office cost allocation policy.
