Geologist

About the role

Castel Resources is seeking a motivated Geologist to support field investigations, mapping and resource assessments across its operations in Port Harcourt and the wider Rivers State region. The role involves hands‑on geological work, data interpretation and collaboration with multidisciplinary technical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct geological field investigations, surveys, mapping and site assessments.
• Collect, document and analyse rock, soil, mineral and other geological samples.
• Interpret geological data, maps, logs and technical information.
• Assist with exploration, site characterisation and resource assessment activities.
• Prepare geological reports, technical documentation, maps and presentations.
• Monitor drilling, sampling and other field activities as required.
• Identify geological risks, formations, structures and potential resource opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of field observations, samples, measurements and findings.
• Collaborate with engineers, environmental specialists, surveyors and other technical teams.
• Ensure field activities comply with HSE procedures and industry standards.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Geology, Applied Geology or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in geology, exploration, construction, mining, oil & gas or environmental services.
• Strong knowledge of geological mapping, sampling, field investigation and data interpretation.
• Professional certification or membership with a recognised geological body is an advantage.
• Good analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work in the field and travel as required.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from NGN 150,000 to NGN 250,000 per month.
