General Manager – Packaged Foods

About the role

The General Manager, Packaged Foods will lead the end‑to‑end operational direction and profitable management of Sundry Markets’ packaged food business, overseeing new factory setup, product quality, regulatory compliance, market entry and customer acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver full P&L performance of the packaged foods division, driving revenue growth, cost control and profitability.
• Develop and execute business plans, budgets and growth strategies.
• Lead the setup, commissioning and scaling of food production facilities, including layout, equipment selection and production planning.
• Establish efficient production processes to optimise yield, cost, quality and capacity utilisation.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, production scheduling and operational efficiency.
• Ensure consistent product quality, food safety and compliance with GMP, HACCP and other relevant standards.
• Implement robust quality assurance, quality control and traceability systems across the value chain.
• Drive continuous improvement in product formulation, shelf life and packaging integrity.
• Manage engagement with regulatory bodies, obtain and maintain permits, certifications and statutory approvals.
• Lead customer acquisition, retention and channel expansion across retail networks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in end‑to‑end operational direction and profitable management of a packaged food business.
• Demonstrated ability to set up and scale food production facilities.
• Strong track record of P&L ownership and financial management.
• Experience ensuring food safety, quality compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Capability to drive market entry, customer acquisition and channel growth.
