Full Stack Engineer – Build Scalable Payment Solutions

About the role

Flutterwave is seeking a driven Full Stack Engineer to help expand its trusted payment infrastructure across Africa and beyond. You will work in an agile environment, turning high‑level product requirements into robust, customer‑facing applications.

Key responsibilities

• Translate product and user requirements into application architecture designs.
• Design, develop, and deliver new features and enhancements using Node.js and modern web technologies.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs for customer‑facing applications.
• Create and maintain database schemas that support new products.
• Write unit tests and set up automated testing pipelines to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Collaborate with frontend designers to convert designs into visual elements.
• Maintain code integrity, versioning (Git), and apply object‑oriented design principles.
• Ensure application security, data protection, and compliance with SDLC processes.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to deliver projects on time and demonstrate enthusiasm for problem‑solving.
• Solid understanding of scalable application design and emerging technologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Node.js (backend development).
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Vue.js.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and consumption.
• Version control using Git.
• Database schema design, data migration, and scripting.
• Experience managing applications on cloud platforms and scaling databases.
• Implementation of automated testing and unit testing frameworks.
