Founding Full Stack Software Engineer (Volunteer)

About the role

Havora is building a research‑driven relationship platform aimed at becoming Africa’s most trusted space for meaningful connections. As a founding full‑stack engineer, you will help shape the MVP from scratch, working closely with product and design teams on a remote, part‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop the end‑to‑end MVP, including responsive front‑end interfaces and scalable back‑end services.
• Implement secure authentication, user management, and integrate third‑party APIs as needed.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices.
• Help define the engineering culture, development workflow, and technical architecture.

Required profile

• Solid commercial or startup experience in full‑stack development.
• Comfortable owning both front‑end and back‑end components of a product.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and contribute to technical planning.

Required skills

• Front‑end: React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind CSS.
• Back‑end: Node.js, NestJS or Express.js, RESTful APIs, JWT, OAuth.
• Database: PostgreSQL, Prisma ORM, database modelling.
• DevOps/Tools: Git, GitHub, Docker (preferred), Vercel, Railway, Render, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP or similar).
