Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a qualified Nigerian national to lead its financial planning and analysis function. This 2‑year renewable contract will be based at the institute’s headquarters, supporting both Ibadan and Nairobi locations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver timely monthly management and financial reports with analysis, commentary, and recommendations.
• Design, implement, and enhance automated financial dashboards and business intelligence tools using Power BI, Agresso, Tableau and related platforms.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, scenario analyses, and performance reports to guide strategic decisions.
• Establish and monitor key financial and operational KPIs, conducting variance and trend analysis.
• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
• Automate budgeting templates and workflows within ERP systems, providing training and support to budget holders.
• Implement and improve the Full Cost Recovery (FCR) framework, developing costing methodologies and recovery mechanisms.

Required profile

• Nigerian national.
• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost recovery within a complex organization.
• Strong analytical ability to translate data into actionable insights for senior management.
