Finance Officer

About the role

Cone Group is seeking a Finance Officer to oversee its accounting, statutory compliance, taxation, and audit functions. The role is ideal for a detail‑oriented finance professional with strong knowledge of Nigerian tax law and a proven ability to keep a company audit‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts and reconcile daily transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, invoicing and payment schedules.
• Process payroll and statutory deductions.
• Prepare and file VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, NSITF, ITF, Pension, NHF and other statutory returns.
• Liaise with NRS, LIRS, CAC, auditors and banks on compliance matters.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring records are audit‑ready.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost‑control activities.
• Provide timely financial insights and recommendations to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA, ATS) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, statutory compliance and audit procedures.
• High integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with accounting/ERP software such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Sage or Odoo.
