About the role
The Finance Manager will lead the financial operations of our NGO in Lagos, overseeing donor funds, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering strategic financial insights to support growth and sustainability.
Key responsibilities
- Track, monitor, and report on restricted funds and grants, ensuring expenditures align with donor regulations and approved budgets.
- Develop annual organizational and project-specific budgets, prepare cash flow forecasts, and conduct variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and present reports to management and the Board of Directors.
- Coordinate annual external audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with GAAP, local regulations, and donor guidelines.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, manage payroll, maintain financial controls, and optimize accounting systems and chart of accounts.
Required profile
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in non‑profit finance, accounting, or grants management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Professional certification such as ACA or CFA is required.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting or fund‑accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Strong understanding of donor regulations (e.g., UN, USAID, EU).
