Finance & Corporate Development Lead – Banking & Fintech

About the role

WayaBank, a digital bank serving individuals and businesses in Nigeria, is looking for an agile, execution-oriented Finance & Corporate Development Lead. Working closely with the CEO, you will help build the bank's financial infrastructure, create its investor data room from scratch and co-pilot an upcoming equity fundraising round. The role combines strategic financial modeling, fintech operational structuring and venture capital fundraising.

Key responsibilities

• Fundraising strategy and execution: build and manage an investor pipeline tracker (VCs, syndicates, angels and private equity); co-pitch with the CEO and act as the primary quantitative voice in investor meetings; assist in structuring and negotiating SAFE notes, convertible notes or priced equity term sheets.
• Data room and collateral: build an institutional-grade digital deal room for early-stage due diligence; develop core financial models, unit economic forecasts and cap table models.
• Translate the product roadmap into operational budgets, headcount plans and cash runway projections.
• Define and track fintech unit economics (transaction volume, take rates, CAC, LTV, margins).
• Align internal financial processes with banking compliance, regulatory frameworks and partner bank requirements.
• Manage day-to-day cash flow to maximize runway before and after funding.

Required profile

• 3-6 years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, or as a finance/operations analyst at a venture-backed fintech startup.
• Proven ability to build financial models and data rooms from scratch.
• Strong understanding of payment rails, digital banking metrics, lending economics and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
