Finance and Accounting Manager

About the role

A client, a key player in agricultural production in Ogun State, is looking for an experienced, disciplined and highly independent Finance Manager to act as its principal financial steward and internal control authority. The role covers farming, processing, sales and distribution, procurement, inventory, capital expenditure, payroll and corporate governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial management, develop financial strategy, establish controls, protect assets and improve profitability and cash flow
• Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts and departmental budgets; monitor compliance and conduct variance analysis
• Manage bank accounts, forecast cash needs, ensure working capital and develop liquidity plans
• Prepare monthly management accounts, quarterly board reports, annual statements, cash flow and working capital reports
• Design controls over procurement, payments, inventory, fixed assets, payroll and revenue collection, and enforce segregation of duties
• Oversee farm budgets, input costs, land development and cost per hectare; support pricing decisions
• Monitor sales reporting, collections, distributor receivables and trade promotions
• Evaluate equipment, facility and expansion projects and financing proposals
• Ensure compliance with CAMA, FIRS, state taxes, pension, PAYE, NSITF, ITF and food processing regulations, and coordinate external audits
• Review payroll, employee benefits and compensation, and oversee treasury, cost accounting and risk management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field; professional accounting qualification required
• MBA or Master's degree strongly preferred
• Minimum 8-12 years of progressive finance experience, including 5 years in a senior finance leadership role
• Experience managing budgets over N500 million, dealing with boards, and setting up financial controls and governance
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness, food processing or industrial operations strongly preferred
