Finance & Accounts Officer

About the role

The Finance & Accounts Officer will support SBTS Group LLC’s operations in Abuja and Enugu by managing core accounting functions, payroll, and statutory compliance. This full‑time position offers the opportunity to work across multiple locations and contribute to month‑end close and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll processing, statutory deductions and coordinate with HR on queries.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including invoice handling, vendor reconciliations and ageing analysis.
• Perform bank, cash, payroll and balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Support month‑end close activities and prepare routine financial and management reports.
• Track operating and campus expenses, monitor cash‑flow and ensure accurate financial controls.
• Prepare and submit PAYE, VAT, WHT, pension and other statutory filings.
• Maintain comprehensive accounting records, approvals and supporting documentation.
• Assist with audit preparation and finance activities for both Abuja and Enugu sites.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in accounting, payroll, AP/AR and financial reporting.
• Good working knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax, payroll and statutory regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, high integrity and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
