Fibre Technical Lead

About the role

Acutech Support Systems is seeking a Fibre Technical Lead to drive the design, installation, and commissioning of fibre optic networks in Lagos. You will lead a skilled team, ensure compliance with industry standards, and deliver projects on time and within scope.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise fibre installation teams, including splicing, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Provide technical guidance on network design, review route plans and splicing diagrams, and approve final designs.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to plan schedules, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
• Oversee cable pulling, splicing, termination, and testing; verify use of OTDR, power meters, and fusion splicers.
• Maintain accurate documentation of test results, as‑built drawings, and compliance reports.
• Enforce safety standards, conduct site inspections and quality audits, and ensure regulatory compliance (ITU, IEEE, TIA/EIA).
• Serve as technical liaison for clients and vendors, providing reports and progress updates.
• Identify technical risks, propose improvements, and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (minimum 3 years) in fibre optic network projects.
• Fibre Optic Association (FOA) Certification – Certified Fibre Optic Technician (CFOT).
• OSHA Safety Certification.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
