About the role
Our client, a leading fibre optic cable manufacturer located in the Lagos Free Zone, is looking for an experienced Factory Operations Manager to lead daily factory operations, workforce performance, production planning, logistics coordination, administrative processes and operational systems.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily factory operations to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of business objectives.
- Manage production planning and operational scheduling to optimise resources and productivity.
- Supervise and coordinate activities across Production, Logistics, Warehouse, Administration, and Support Functions.
- Drive implementation and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational policies.
- Develop and monitor operational KPIs and performance dashboards.
- Work closely with HR on workforce planning, employee performance management, attendance monitoring, disciplinary processes, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support recruitment, manpower planning, and talent development activities within the factory.
- Oversee inventory management, stock control, warehousing, and logistics operations.
- Ensure proper utilisation of ERP systems, operational software, reporting tools, and technology platforms to improve operational visibility and decision‑making.
- Monitor operational costs and support budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑control initiatives.
- Generate management reports and provide recommendations for operational improvement.
- Lead cross‑functional teams and promote a culture of accountability, discipline, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Operations Management, Industrial Management, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems (MIS) or a related field.
- Minimum of 6–7 years’ experience managing operations within a manufacturing, telecommunications, technology or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple functions including Production, Logistics, Warehouse Operations, Administration, HR Coordination and Operational Reporting.
- Strong understanding of operational systems, process improvement, ERP platforms, reporting tools and performance management frameworks.
- Experience implementing and managing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
- Experience managing teams of varying functions and levels.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
