Factory Electrical/Instrument Technician

About the role

PZ Cussons is seeking a motivated Electrical/Instrument Technician to join its manufacturing team. You will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and low‑level fault (LLF) tasks according to schedule and record them in the appropriate registers.
• Execute breakdown maintenance promptly during production runs.
• Carry out scheduled calibrations, inspection checks, monthly condition‑based monitoring (CBM) and thermography activities.
• Log all activities, communicate hand‑overs, and maintain accurate work orders and permits.
• Track critical spares availability, ensure no plant stoppage due to missing parts, and achieve 100% schedule compliance.
• Participate in factory continuous‑improvement programs and generate improvement ideas.

Required profile

• HND or BSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Strong communication, time‑management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify improvement opportunities quickly and work safely.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
• Technical knowledge of electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
